Herman (Tommy) Thompson, Jr., CFP®, ChSNC®, ChFC® is a Financial Planner with Innovative Financial Group in Atlanta, GA. Tommy has been an investment professional since 2004, specializing in wealth management strategy, financial planning, insurance needs analysis, and special needs planning.

As an investment professional, Tommy seeks to help clients realize their goals by creating an actionable, understandable financial plan. A proud graduate of the University of Georgia (2003), Tommy had double majors in Marketing and Risk Management/Insurance. In 2022, Tommy earned the ChSNC® (Chartered Special Needs Consultant) designation, which is an accreditation designed for financial advisors who want to make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities or special needs.

Tommy is a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners and also a member of the Financial Planning Association. He is an Investment Advisor Representative registered in 29 states, holding the Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 registrations, as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses.

In 2007, Tommy married Dr. Amy Thompson (Mercer 2007) at Corinth Baptist Church of Dekalb County; the Thompson family has been active in the church since 1950. Today, Tommy and Amy continue that tradition and passion for volunteering.
