Malcolm Thomas joined Innovative Financial Group(IFG) in 2020 with 17 years of financial services experience, the previous 2 years as Director of Advisor Success at XY Planning Network. Malcolm is responsible for growing IFG through recruiting and acquisitions. His focus is on helping independent financial advisors launch, grow, and ultimately monetize their businesses. Malcolm is also responsible for running the SellMyFinancialPractice platform, providing consultative succession planning resources to advisors at or approaching retirement.
In his previous role at XY Planning Network, he oversaw the training and resources provided to over 1200 fee-only financial advisors, helping them launch, build, and scale their RIA firms. This included designing and creating programs and workshops focused on marketing, sales, financial planning, and business operations. Before joining XY Planning Network, Malcolm was part of the leadership team at Signator Investors, the independent broker-dealer affiliated with John Hancock, which built Signator into one of the largest nationwide broker-dealers through recruiting and acquisitions, before selling to Advisor Group in 2018.
Malcolm currently lives in Bozeman, Montana, with his wife Stacey, son Lincoln, and golden retriever Ryder. They love the outdoors and spend every possible moment outside hiking, fly fishing, and skiing.
